About Radio Lingua

Learn a language with Radio Lingua

Radio Lingua learning materials put you in control of your language-learning and help you learn where, when and how you want.

We have a huge range of materials including materials for learners of Spanish, French, German, Italian, English, and many other languages. Our materials are aimed at independent learners of all ages: all you need to learn another language with us is access to the internet and some enthusiasm! You can learn wherever you want to, at a time that suits you. By using an iPod or an mp3 player you can take your learning with you – learning with our shows allows you to learn a language on the move. Radio Lingua language-learning courses are not simply lists of words for you to listen and repeat: each episode is a real lesson with an experienced teacher and/or native speaker speaking directly to you, the learner. You’ll be guided through the lessons and build your confidence in no time.

Progression

Learning a language with Radio Lingua means that you’ll be accompanied through your language-learning experience by experienced teachers. Most of our courses are designed to be progressive: you don’t need to think about what to learn next: we’ll do the planning for you and help you make the most effective progress through the courses. Most importantly, subsequent lessons always build on what’s gone before, consolidating the words, phrases, constructions and patterns you learn so that you no longer need to worry about remembering what you’ve learned because you actually know it.

Languages for everyone

Perhaps you’ve never had the opportunity to learn another language, or it could be that you’re among the many people who didn’t fully appreciate the opportunity to learn a language while at school, college or university. Radio Lingua materials are perfect both for learners who are completely new to a language, and for “false beginners” who may be returning to a language which they’ve not used in many years. Equally we provide materials for more experienced learners, such as our Idiomatic German course A Flavour of German, and our intermediate-advanced Spanish course Show Time Spanish.

Flexibility

All our materials are accessible from our website, so you can learn while sitting at your computer. Our mp3 files can be downloaded and copied to iTunes, Windows Media Player, or onto iPods, mp3 players or even mobile phones. This allows you to learn where and when it suits you best: walking the dog, at the gym, in the garden or on your daily commute to work. Each day we all spend time doing things we have to do: whether it’s driving to work, or catching up with the housework. We firmly believe that you can make excellent progress in a language simply by listening to our programmes during the time you may otherwise waste while travelling or doing repetitive tasks. Our premium materials allow you to consolidate your learning further by using our study guides, bonus listening materials and enhanced episodes.

Not sure where to start?

If you’re not sure where to start, let us guide you through our site and help you get the most out of the materials we offer. Our support materials will help you get started and take your first steps towards becoming confident in another language.

  1. And one other message — sorry for sending more than one 🙂

When are you going to release Season 5 of Coffee Break French?? I’m looking for a resource that continues beyond Season 4. Is there anything you can recommend?

    Thanks!

  2. Hi! I just downloaded the app for CoffeeBreak French. I was able to listen to Lesson 1, but I’m unable to access anything else. Do I have to subscribe to listen?
