Bonus materials and pricing

While it is possible to learn a significant amount of Spanish from our free audio materials, the full Coffee Break Spanish course is made up of a variety of support materials forming Season Passes. Each Season Pass can include different types of support materials:

  • Lesson guides: printable lesson guides in pdf format which explain the words and phrases covered in each lesson, provide transcripts of any dialogues and list bonus vocabulary. You can download sample lesson guides for lesson 2 and lesson 42.
  • Enhanced podcasts: perhaps you are a visual learner and you’d like to be able to see the words and phrases as you listen. The enhanced podcasts provide synchronised ‘flashcards’ which can be viewed on iPods*, iTunes and QuickTime Player on both Macs and PCs. Download a sample enhanced podcast for lesson 1 here. Please note that you require iTunes or QuickTime Player to view the enhanced podcast.
  • Bonus listening materials: every single lesson of Coffee Break Spanish comes with an extra podcast which provides further practice of the language covered in the main lesson. Normally lasting around 8-10 minutes, this additional listening material helps you to consolidate the words and phrases you’ve learned in each lesson and in later episodes it provides an excellent method of checking your understanding through an interactive translation test. Many bonus episodes feature relaxation techniques or musical vocabulary practice. You can download a sample of the bonus listening materials for lesson 42 here.
  • Abridged versions: with Coffee Break Spanish we present each episode with an introduction and ending, often providing news about developments among the Radio Lingua learning community. If you prefer, you can use the abridged version of the materials which skip straight to the learning content.
  • Wordlists: sometimes you simply need a handy list of words and phrases to help you practise when you’re away from your computer or iPod. We provide alphabetical lists of the vocabulary covered in groups of lessons, eg. lessons 1-5, 6-10, etc. in English-Spanish and Spanish-English versions. We also provide a ‘dictionary’ of all the phrases from the entire level, eg. lessons 1-40, an excellent reference for learners. All word lists are in pdf format and are easily printable.
  • Exercises: when learning a language it’s important to check your understanding. Our worksheet pack provides a range of exercises which test your understanding. Full answers are provided.
  • No ads: in some areas our podcasts feature carefully chosen adverts which we feel are appropriate for an educational podcast. The premium versions of our materials never carry adverts.

There are options to suit every budget and the Level 1 Season Pass (lessons 1-40) starts at just £27 GBP. Full details of what each Season Pass provides can be found in the table below. I’ve made multiple attempts at learning Spanish, and this is the first time I’m actually understanding the language. The format and pace are perfect. torrez, iTunes US, December 06

I really enjoy both the results of listening to the podcast, and the experience of listening to the podcast itself. Mark and Kara are very entertaining, and it feels very ‘at home’: you feel part of the experience, even though I’m 6,000 miles away from their studio in Scotland. I’ve learned a lot and love testing out my new Spanish vocabulary on my friends and family. Sirathiel, iTunes US, January 07

Love this podcast! This podcast is excellent. The title really is a description of its goal: it is Coffee Break Spanish and is geared towards conversational Spanish. I find it perfect for people like me who want to do something productive with their commute time and who spend a fair amount of time with Spanish-speaking people. The pacing is great, the accents are fun, and the vocabulary seems to be very appropriate.dvice, iTunes US, February 07

I highly recommend this podcast to adult language learners. The format is not the same old drill and repeat of other products. One does not feel isolated with an atonal voice. There is expressiveness, humor and kindness in each episode, which makes the learning process easier and faster. I have used this podcast to move rapidly from #1 to #80 in less than six months, and am now doing quite well at reading and listening to native speakers of Spanish. tuerca caso, iTunes US, April 09

Mark and Kara are such a pleasure to listen to and I love how Kara is learning too, so we learn from her errors as well, especially in pronunciation. I also especially appreciate how Mark gives both the European pronunciation as well as the Latin American version. As I am from America, most of my contact is with Latin American speakers, but it is good to know the difference. ItsElaine, iTunes US, March 09

I listened to Coffee Break Spanish in preparation for my Spanish AS Level, purely to recollect information from prior years. I thought that it presented a really well-rounded approach to learning Spanish. I loved its originality and felt it could help anyone to grasp the difficult concepts. It was a great way to help me review what I had already learned in my studies and I picked up many new ideas and approaches in my listening. Fantastic! Richard M, iTunes UK, April 09
