  1. I am struggling to get beyond a basic understanding of the French verbs especially the use of etre and avoir. For example in the bonus episode of lesson 60 one of Mark’s test questions is “We have bought this house but we are not going to sell our old house”
I am constantly confused by wanting to treat “we are going to sell” as three verbs ie: we are = nous sommes going = aller and sell = vendre. Any help would be appreciated.

    • The phrase “We are going to sell” is translated as “nous allons vendre” because “nous allons” can be translated as “we go”, “we do go” or “we are going”.
