Season 3 – Lesson 26 – Coffee Break French

Coming up in this lesson:

We return to Alf’s story this week on Coffee Break French and his wife, Jennifer, has finally arrived in France. Alf has been preparing for her arrival, both with the house renovations and he’s even learned to cook! As usual there are plenty of useful expressions and interesting grammar points in this week’s lesson. In addition, following many requests from our members, the extended version of this week’s lesson features an introduction to a new tense, the Past Historic, which is a narrative tense used in literary texts.

Please note that lesson 26 of Season 3 was originally known as lesson 326 of Coffee Break French. We have renumbered the lessons of each season as lessons 1-40 to make things more simple for our listeners.

I’m just at lesson 305 of the new season, and have previously enjoyed Seasons 1 & 2. I’m liking the new format (though I find Veronica a bit annoying!) but I’d like the opportunity to practice more than seems currently to be in the format. Realize that it’s quite far along from my point now, but if it might be possible to adjust for later podcasts it would be great for me! 🙂

My husband and I have both really enjoyed studying with all of you. I taught German for years and appreciate the careful guidance you are giving us. The language and grammar are well-planned and presented in precise increments, which are thankfully very entertaining as well. Thank you so much.

The voicing are largely clear, however I second Mandy’s opinion that the voice of Veronica is quite grating on the nerves.

A big heart-felt thank you to you, Mark and the team, I have been enjoying learning with Coffee Break French a lot and have learned a great deal, too! And I must say I adore all three characters of the new season and Veronica is lovely!!! I love her voice! I find that she does speak slower than the other two, but it only helps! So happy that episode 327 is on its way, yaaay! 🙂

In the note of lesson 326, on page 6, there is written: “nous allons profiter de la paix!” but in the audio lesson there is said something completely different.
