In this week’s show we’re returning to our telenovela, Verano Español. It’s the morning after the night before when Ángel arrived drunk at Iona’s party. Needless to say Laura’s dad isn’t very impressed with Ángel! Laura’s friend Fiona arrives from Scotland and the love triangle threatens to become a square! As usual, in Act II, Mark will help listeners understand the story by working through a series of questions and answers about what happens in this episode.

Things have been a bit quiet here at Radio Lingua over the past week or so, and this has been due to a number of things – our team’s other commitments and a problem with the podcast feed engine. We’ve now updated Coffee Break Spanish episode 33 and Coffee Break French episode 66, but unfortunately there is a bug with the podcast feed. We’ve submitted support queries to the companies we use for podcast hosting and feed generation and are waiting on them getting back to us. We’ll keep you posted with this and update the feeds as soon as possible. In the meantime you can listen to the episodes on the site. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
(Show Time Spanish episode 34 is due very soon!)
In Lesson 66 we’re covering two constructions which will help to increase your range of expression: venir de faire quelque chose (to have just done something) and avant de faire quelque chose (before doing something).

We receive many emails from teachers asking how schools can access our materials and we’ve been doing lots of work recently working with groups of young people using podcasts and other forms of digital creativity in the languages classroom. We’ve decided to package this together and launch a new website aimed specifically at schools.
Launching at the Scottish Learning Festival on 23 September, Radio Lingua Schools will include:
- information on our language courses
- information about the workshops and services we can provide for schools
- advice for teachers as to how to get the most out of our language-learning materials in – and out of – the classroom
- pricing for educational licenses of our materials
The current Radio Lingua site will continue to focus on independent language learners and will provide access to both our free materials and our premium content. Radio Lingua Schools will be available at http://www.radiolinguaschools.com. In the meantime, if you’re a teacher and have any queries about the services we’ll be offering, or if you have any ideas about what we should include on our site, please contact us or email schools [at] radiolingua [dot] com.
